King’s Ely’s Katie Cameron qualified for the National Championships after finishing second in the 80cms class.
Cameron came second out of 78 riders in a competitive class at the Norton Heath Equestrian Centre, while also narrowly missing out on qualifying in the 80cms team event with Emily Gredley, Rebecca Everitt and Phoebe Plumb.
Gredley was a late substitute in the 90cms class, and rose to the challenge to take fourth place as a team alongside Cameron and Plumb.
Elsewhere, Cameron and Gredley teamed up with Rachael Attwood and Thea Holdaway to come second in the 80cms team event at the Houghton International Horse Trials.
Gredley finished first individually in the primary school section, with Cameron securing sixth place in the secondary school section.
The 90cms team of Attwood, Cameron and Freia Gould came fourth out of 12 teams to cap a successful competition for the King’s Ely team.
