Michael Caine is set to return to action in the final round of the Michelin Ginetta GT4 Supercup next weekend with his plans for 2016 still to be decided.
The Soham-based driver missed the last two rounds of the championship at Rockingham and Silverstone with a back injury, but is expected to get back in his Amigos Tequila Beer Ginetta G55 for the season finale at Brands Hatch a week on Saturday.
Caine is currently sixth in the standings ahead of the last three races in Kent next week, with the 46-year-old admitting his disappointment at how his debut GT4 Supercup campaign has unfolded.
“I’m disappointed because I wanted to win it,” the former British GT champion said. “There’s been so many issues with the car which have been first year teething problems.
“As much as I’ve enjoyed it, it could possibly be my last race. I’m looking forward to Brands Hatch so we’ll see how it goes.”
n Rob Huff moved up to ninth in the World Touring Car Championship after finishing fifth in the second race in the Race of China on Sunday.
After being forced to retire from the first race, the Red Lodge-based racer bounced back to take fifth spot in the next race and as a result climb above fellow Brit Tom Chilton in the standings.
