Saffron Walden II 112-2 beat Fordham 194 by eight wickets (D/L method)

Fordham fell to the dreaded Duckworth Lewis ruling as the weather intervened away at Saffron Walden on Saturday.

Batting first, Fordham made 194 all out with Tom Williams top-scoring thanks to his knock of 35.

Luke Duplooy added a further 33 runs, while four other batsmen reached the 20 mark.

In reply, Alex Morley made 65 not out for the hosts, but Fordham were not given the opportunity to gain more points as the rain halted play.

n Fordham II saw their game against Cokenach abandoned because of the bad weather.

n Fordham III won impressively again, this time defeating Histon III by seven wickets.

Sean Brighty (4-39) and Stu Dunsmuir (3-28) did the damage with the ball as Histon were bowled out for 120 in 30 overs.

Josh Pope made his third successive half century (56no) for Fordham with Harry Harvey (22) and Adam Cornwell (16no) seeing the hosts home in only the 21st over.

nIn the Hatchick Marshall Town Counties Championship Division Two, Exning lost by six wickets away at Dunmow.

The visitors were bowled out for 182 - a total that Dunmow reached in just 36.2 overs.

n In Division One, Worlington lost by four wickets during their trip to Frinton-on-Sea II.

n It was a similar story for Worlington II, who lost by seven wickets at home to Maldon II.

Colin Thompson (51) scored their first half-century of the season, but it was not enough to prevent a fifth straight defeat.

n On Sunday, Worlington Academy collected their first win of the season at the expense of Elveden.

A century from Carl Manels helped to wrap up the 113-run victory.
