A two-month break failed to stop Newmarket from running riot on the pitch and hitting Alconbury for seven at the weekend.
The hosts opened the scoring after 10 minutes when some intricate play saw Jordanne Sillitoe released before her low driven ball found Molly Agnew to sidefoot home.
Straight from kick off Yasmin Woodfield won the ball back and played a neat through ball to Abbi Griffin who coolly slotted in to the bottom corner, and it was 3-0 moments later when Katie Webb found Woodfield whose eye of the needle pass found Agnew running through on goal to dispatch first time.
It took a while before number goal number four arrived, and it came from a simple long throw from Lucy Page. She found Sillitoe, who tricked her way past one, cut inside and unleashed a right-foot curler in to the top corner, before Griffin finished off a neat move to make it 5-0 at the break.
The second half continued in the same vein as Town, with another quick break, made it 6-0, with Agnew slotting home a ricocheted clearance. Town completed the scoring late on as Sillitoe beat a number of players to score her second of the match and Town’s seventh.
