Soham Town Rangers miserable run in the Ryman League Division One North continued on Saturday after they were comfortably beaten 4-1 by lowly Great Wakering Rovers.
The Greens, who are now without a win in seven league matches, found themselves three goals down before leading scorer Luke Stanley netted 12 minutes from time.
Great Wakering restored their three-goal cushion just two minutes later to round out their first win in first games.
In the Thurlow Nunn League Premier Division Newmarket Town strengthened their hold on third position with a 2-0 win over Walsham-le-Willows, while Dean Greygoose oversaw his first win as Mildenhall Town manager with the Recreation Way outfit defeating Ipswich Wanderers 3-1 away.
Struggling Ely City claimed their first draw of the season when holding fifth placed Hadleigh United 3-3.
