AFC Sudbury manager Jamie Godbold has continued to build his squad ahead of next season by retaining the services of three more players.
With the start of their first-ever season in the Ryman League Premier Division now less than nine weeks away, defender Stefano Mallardo and midfielders Liam Wales and Wayne Blackman have all signed new deals with the club.
Wales joined the Yellows last summer and made 51 appearances during AFC’s title-winning campaign last season, with the 21-year-old scoring 10 goals to help Godbold’s men achieve promotion to the Ryman League’s top flight.
Mallardo featured 29 times for Sudbury in 2015-16 and last October the teenager was appointed captain of the Suffolk FA Under-18s side.
Blackman completes the trio who have agreed to stay, with the 18-year-old appearing 14 times for the AFC first team last season.
The confirmation brings the total number of players re-signed for 2016-17 by Godbold to 13 after Marcus Garnham, Sam Clarke, Ben Robinson, Jack Wilkinson, James Baker, Jordan Blackwell, Ryan Henshaw, Jack Newman, Luke Callander and Craig Parker committed themselves to the club for next season.
AFC have also made two new signings during the off season with Lowestoft Town midfielder Rob Eagle and Concord Rangers striker Sam Bantick having both joined the Premier Division new boys last month.
