Rangers hit Ramblers for six to end winless run

A six goal first half blitz saw Soham Town Rangers bring to an end their winless run in the Ryman League Division One North on Saturday with a 6-2 victory over Burnham Ramblers.

An own goal from Marc Gorbell set the Greens on their way in the eighth minute before leading scorer Luke Stanley doubled their tally eight minutes later.

David Prada was next to find the back of the net in the 20th minute. His effort was followed up by a three-minute brace from Ryan Sharman before Dan Brown netted in the 36th minute.

Ramblers scored twice in the second half but the damage had been done in the opening 45 minutes.

In the Thurlow Nunn Premier League Newmarket Town were held to a 3-3 draw at Thetford Town, while Dean Greygoose recorded his first home win as Mildenhall Town manager after his side saw off Fakenham Town 2-0.

Ely City’s match with Brantham Athletic was postponed as the result of a water logged pitch.
