Nominations are now being invited for this year’s Suffolk’s Groundsman of the Year award.
The prestigious award, which is open to clubs at Step Seven and below, recognises the contribution of these unsung heroes of the grassroots game and encourages the development of groundsmanship.
Darryle Flegg of Ipswich side Achilles scooped last year’s award, pipping Michael Brundish of Old Newton United, who had previously recorded a hat-trick of victories, and Martin Stiff of Claydon.
The winner will receive a £100 voucher, the runner-up a £75 voucher and the third placed £50, to spend with Mark Harrod Ltd, who are again sponsoring the competition. All three will also receive a certificate.
The closing date for applications is Wednesday, February 10, and entries can be submitted via the nomination form on the Suffolk FA website, www.suffolkfa.com.
