A last minute goal from Matt Simpson handed Soham Town Rangers a 2-1 win away at Romford in the Ryman League Division One North on Saturday.

The Greens, fresh from moving into the semi-final of the Cambs Invitation Cup on Tuesday, opened the scoring through a Joey Abbs penalty in the 15th minute.

Romford equalised through Eddie Hart nine minutes before the break, before Simpson fired in the winner in the 90th minute.

In the Thurlow Nunn League Premier Division Mildenhall Town registered their first win in five league matches with a 3-0 win over Walsham-le-Willows.

Both Newmarket Town and Ely City saw their matches postponed due to the weather.
