Lakenheath boss Kevin Sobiechowski has spoken of his disappointment after losing skipper James Morley to injury for the remainder of the season.
Club captain Morley suffered a bad leg break late on in the game during Heath’s hard-fought 2-1 victory over Sawston in the Cambridgeshire County League Kershaw Premier Division at the weekend.
Sobiechowski said: “The lads are absolutely devastated for James, he’s a big character around the place and has been a rock for me since day dot.
“When things like this happen the result is irrelevant and it puts things into perspective.
“We are not quite firing on all cylinders at the minute but we have to move on and improve. James would like nothing more than to see us moving up the table and we will try our best for him.”
Lakenheath continued their winning start to 2016 with goals from Aaron Turner and Ricky Cornish, to overcome Sawston in what proved a close encounter.
Lakenheath will be hoping to build on that winning momentum when they host Gamlingay United on Saturday (2pm).
