Adam Dalby rescued a point for Newmarket Town against league strugglers Diss Town in the Thurlow Nunn League Premier Division on Saturday.
The visitors who held Mildenhall Town to a 2-2 draw in their previous match, took the lead through Kyle Downes in the first half, a period which also saw them reduced to 10-men following the sending off of Stefan Gilding.
Although having a numerical advantage the Jockeys did not hit back until late on in the second half through Dalby’s perfectly hit free-kick.
Ely City gave their survival hopes a much needed boost when accounting for Brantham Athletic 2-1 away, while Mildenhall Town made it three games without a win in the league after going down 3-0 away to Whitton United.
In the Ryman League Division One North Soham Town Rangers lost 1-0 at home to league leaders Harlow Town.
