MILDENHALL Fen Tigers nearly pulled off the shock of the season after going down 42-51 to the Reading Racers on Sunday.
The West Row outfit got off to a flying start, taking the opening two heats 5-1 and 4-2 to take a six-point advantage.

Captain Jan Graversen and Casper Wortman then teamed up for a 5-1 in heat four to increase the lead to 10.

This gap was soon reduced as Racers captain Mark Lemon led home the first of three 5-1's for the visitors.

As the track become slicker, the visitors took the lead for the first time in heat nine courtesy of ex-Tigers Tom Madsen and Matt Wright.

Mildenhall number two Barrie Evans took a well-deserved win in heat 10 to keep the Suffolk side within a point of their Berkshire rivals.

Although Truminski took the spoils in race 13, Mills and Wright wrapped up the meeting in the penultimate race with a 5-1 win.

Scores - Fen Tigers: S Truminski 11, B Evans 9, P Lee 5, L Smart 3, J Graversen 5, H Loof 6, C Wortman 3.

Racers: M Lemon 9, T Suchanek 6, U Ostergaard 17, C Mills 6, T Madsen 5, M Wright 6, D Warwick 2.
