SOHAM Town gave league leaders Leamington a scare before eventually going down to a 77th winner in their first game for three weeks on Saturday.
Without the suspended Martin Bromwich and injured Charles Libam, the hosts included Scott Carter in their line up as they went in search of their first home win of the season.
The Greens started brightly and almost took the lead in the opening minutes when Martin McNeil had a header tipped over by the visiting keeper.
But it was Leamington who took the lead in the 16th minute when Luke Corbett collected inside the area and fired home at the far post.
After withstanding some sustained pressure, Soham fashioned an equaliser in the 23rd minute when Darren Jimson turned a defender in the box before shooting low past Morris for the home side's first goal at Julius Martin Lane.
However, the parity only lasted 13 minutes before Mark Bellingham restored Leamington's lead when he rose between two defenders to head home Towers' right wing cross.
The same pairing combined again two minutes later but this time Jordan easily gathered Bellingham's looping header.
But with only three minutes of the half remaining, the Greens equalised for the second time after the referee awarded a free-kick just outside the box for a foul on Michael Simpson.
Jimson stepped up to take the set piece, curling the ball over the wall and inside the post for his third goal of the season.
After the break, Scott Carter, Simpson and Kentoh Gray all had good chances to give Soham the lead before Lea Jordan was called into action to push Bellingham's effort behind.
And it was the visitors who snatched the winner with 13 minutes left on the clock when Bellingham reacted first to force the ball over the line after a corner was not cleared.
