A SPIRITED fightback by Mildenhall Fen Tigers' was not enough to stop them going down 53-40 to the Scunthorpe Scorpions on Sunday.
The visitors soon racked up a healthy advantage and were 10 points up by the fourth heat. After a 20-minute interval to assess track conditions, the Scorpions carried on where they left off with a 4-2 in heat five.

Trailing by 14 points, team boss Laurence Rogers gambled on sending out rejuvenated Pole Michal Rajkowski in a double-scoring black and white helmet to claw some points back in heat eight.

First out the gate, the Belle Vue asset lead from pillar to post to score a vital victory.

A 4-2 and 5-1 win in favour of the home side brought them to within five points of the visitors with just five heats remaining.

But a 5-1 in heat 13 to the visitors secured the points and the meeting to leave an unlucky Mildenhall still searching for that elusive first league win.

Sunday's Scores - Fen Tigers: M Rajkowski 14, K Laukkanen 4, T Suchanek 11, J Graversen 8, H Loof 2, M Baseby 1.

Scunthorpe: R Hall 6, C Wilkinson 9, M Karlsson 10, V Bergstrom 7, E Sanchez 10, B Powell 3, B Bekker 8.
