TWO goals from Owen Paynter helped Mildenhall Town cement their place at the top of the Ridgeons Premier League with a 4-1 win at Haverhill Town last night.
Following Saturday's 8-2 demolition of Whitton United, the Recreation Way outfit secured their second victory of the new campaign.
A brace from striker Owen Paynter and a goal each for John Sands and Stephen Spriggs saw Mildenhall run out easy winners.
Local rivals Ely City chalked up their first victory of the season as they beat King's Lynn Reserves 3-1 at the Unwin Ground.
Goals from Andy Pettit (2) and Ben Lawrence saw Dennis Lightning's men roar into a 3-0 lead, before the visitors scored a late consolsation.
In Divsion One, a goal from Paul Shaw helped Newmarket Town to a 1-1 draw with Safron Walden at the Town Ground.
