Multidimensional shapes up at Ascot

HENRY Cecil's Multidimensional has always promised big things and he can deliver the goods in the Hardwicke Stakes at Royal Ascot on Saturday.
The Warren Place maestro has never made any secret of his high opinion of the five year old but he has been dogged by various problems.
At first sight, his credentials are not encouraging but he came back carrying an injury after finishing only ninth to Soldier Of Fortune in the Coronation Cup at Epsom.
The injury has responded to treatment and, with the Warren Place team persuading him to settle better, he could surprise some of his fancied opponents like Spanish Moon as his work indicates he is a top class performer.
King's Apostle can continue his upwardly mobile progress by showing a clean pair of heels to his rivals in the Wokingham on the same afternoon.
After winning a modest maiden at Lingfield last spring, he rounded off the season with emphatic wins at Newmarket and York.
He was backward on his Rowley Mile reappearance on 2000 Guineas day and finished well to be fifth to Off The Record.
Subsequent work has sharpened him up but, if he misses the cut, I would go with David Elsworth's easy Great Leighs winner Nota Bene who, along with the hold-up horse Zidane, will give their backers a good run for their money.
Still on the sprinting front, on Saturday it could pay handsome dividends to side with James Eustace's War Artist in the Golden Jubilee Stakes.
Originally destined for America, his stopover in Newmarket was extended and he has run three cracking races.
He was second to David Junior over seven furlongs at Wolverhampton before following up an unlucky sixth to Zidane in the Abernant Stakes here on the Rowley Mile with a cracking second to Assertive in the Gr 2 Duke Of York Stakes.
He has continued to please Eustace in his work, though he will have to produce a career best to cope with the likes of Soldier's Tale, Fat Boy and Balthazar's Gift.
Jeremy Noseda has handled Milne Garden patiently and he looks the answer to the Duke Of Edinburgh Handicap later in the afternoon, while Henry Cecil's Ajaan can round the meeting off on a Newmarket high by outstaying his opponents in a far better quality Queen Alexandra Stakes than there has been for some years.
Tomorrow, I like the look of William Jarvis's Graduation in the two-mile Queen's Vase.
This Galileo filly showed she was peaking with a length-and-a-quarter win over Maria Di Scozia at Leicester.
She has looked in great form working on the Limekilns Round Gallop and, as there should be no doubts about her stamina, she is taken to outstay the hat-trick seeking pair Amerigo and Unleashed.
It could also pay handsome dividends to side with David Simcock's lightly raced four year old Bushman in the Wolferton Handicap.
He put in a tremendous display to beat Little White Lie by four and a half lengths at Sandown on soft ground so some rain would be welcome but this progressive individual is fancied to give Simcock his first Royal meeting winner on his way to Pattern Race company.
Visitors to tomorrow's first July Course evening meeting of the year could help cover their costs by siding with James Toller's Bassinet in the Walker Transport Services Handicap.
The ex-French filly has been knocking on the door in her last few starts and, with the Toller team in good form, should gain an overdue win.
Stable companion Perfect Treasure could land the CorporateFX Private Clients Handicap, while the Quinlan brothers should go close with Red Arsene in the Portland Place Properties Handicap.
Switching to our Saturday card, Michael Jarvis's improving sprinter Befortyfour should not be opposed in the intercasino.co.uk Handicap.
His trainer's patience has been rewarded with fluent front running wins in his three starts this season and provided the ground does not dry up too much he should make it four wins a row.
