* ON FRIDAY, the Reveloutdoors mountainbike race team continued their summer race campaign and were in action in the third round of the Friday Night Summer Series at Daventry.
The conditions were perfect after a week of dry weather which made the course very fast.
The course had changed from last year to include fewer grass sections and more single-track and fast open fire road sections which suited the team. The race format was a short course with multiple laps.
Jamie Wightman, James Dyke and Neil Payne were all in the 18-39 age category while Garry Houghton rode in the 40+ category.
Arriving in plenty time, the riders were able to warm-up well which is critical with this format of racing.
The start saw 60 riders in each class.
In the mass start, Wightman got away well near the front of the field settling into a high position in the highly competitive field.
