PUPILS at St Andrew's Primary School in Soham became scientists for the day during a technology week.
Five scientists from Napp Pharmaceutical in Cambridge visited the school to demonstrate how painkillers are made.
Children from Years 3, 4 and 5 were shown the process of how the scientists make extra-strong medicines prescribed by doctors.
Following the demonstration, the group of 150 youngsters donned white lab coats and caps to try to make their own medicine using salt, sugar and powder paint.
Natasha Davidson, science co-ordinator at the school, said: "They loved it and were very engaged.
"I think they learned a lot and there was a real buzz around the school throughout the whole week."
