A LUNCHTIME assistant at Isleham Primary School has retired after 27 years of service.
Ann Cox first started at the school in 1981 but has decided to retire.

"I think it's time for me to hang up my boots and spend some time with the family," she said.

"I will miss working at the school and I will miss the children. Hopefully they will invite me back to some of their school shows."

Mrs Cox, 67, has been married to her husband Sid, 72, for 46 years and the couple still enjoy Rock 'n' Roll concerts.

Staff and children presented Mrs Cox with a collage picture of children, chocolates and a voucher as a thank you.

"They gave me a wonderful send off on a very emotional day," she added.
