RESIDENTS in Soham can say how they want their town to look in the next 20 years simply by clicking online.
As part of the Soham masterplan, a web survey has been set up to allow people to feed their thoughts and opinions on the place where they live, work and shop.
The survey asks a range of vital questions which will feed directly into the draft visio
n for the town.
These thoughts range from how the centre of the town could be developed, to listing the three most important improvements that could be made to Soham.
Preliminary research ahead of the full consultation has found that the vast majority of residents like their neighbourhood but are worried that the area is showing signs of decline.
Councillor Derrick Beckett, chairman of the Soham masterplan vision working party, said: "This web survey is a great way for people to feed through their views and comments on what Soham could look like.
"It is really important that local residents use this opportunity to tell us what they like about their town and what they think can be improved.
"It is very easy to fall into the trap of being negative but what we want to know is how Soham can get better.
"Soham needs to regain its confidence and I think it is important that we work together to bring this about.
"The town needs to be positive about its future, thinking hard about how it can improve.
"But we need help. We need those who live, work and visit Soham to let us know what they think and want from the town.
"For us, it is about making the place where you live your own. There is a growing feel-good factor developing about the town and even talk that Soham could be the next postcode to watch for people who can see the potential."
