ELY Cathedral is set to screen the original 1925 film Phantom of the Opera as part of its celebrations to mark the centenary of the cathedral organ.
The film, which starred Lon Chaney, was first screened in June 1925 and now, 83 years later, the cathedral will be transformed for a one-off screening.
It will be shown on a super-sized screen under the Octagon and will feature live accompaniment by renowned organist David Briggs.
Paul Trepte, director of music at the cathedral, said: "It's hard to think of a better location to see this most gothic of all silent films and with such a spine-tingling accompaniment.
"David is a highly accomplished musician and his skill commands universal admiration. It will be quite spectacular, both visually and audibly."
The cathedral organ, which was installed by Harrison & Harrison in 1908, has become one of the most famous in the UK and celebrates its 100th anniversary this year.
The film will be shown on Monday at 8.30pm. All tickets are £10 and are available from the box office on 01353 660349 or at www.elycathedral.org.
A pre-theatre supper is available from the Almonry Restaurant for £20.
