Violet Palmer

VIOLET Palmer, of Fordham, died at West Suffolk Hospital, Bury St Edmunds, on January 13. She was 86.
Born on June 17, 1922, in Lancaster, she served with the Women's Auxiliary Air Force during the war years and moved to Soham Road, Fordham, in 1942.

Married to Robert for almost 66 years, she worked side by side with him on the land.

She enjoyed spending time with her family, and spent her evenings either knitting or doing crochet work.

Mrs Palmer is survived by her husband and leaves a son Robert, a daughter Patricia, two grandchildren, Stuart and Lucy, and two great-grandchildren.

Her funeral took place at West Suffolk Crematorium, Risby, on January 28, and the service was conducted by Reg Brown.
