STUART Anthony Walker, of Hill Close, Newmarket, died at West Suffolk Hospital, Bury St Edmunds, on April 15. He was 61.
Born in Isleworth, Middlesex, he moved to Newmarket in 1959 and attended Newmarket Secondary School.
He started work at Exning Garage, then went to Crisswell's and Wallis' garages before having a change of career to work for Prudential Assurance
and later as a parts manager at Welch's Transport. Ten years ago he took early retirement due to rheumatoid arthritis.
He enjoyed driving, watching television, following Charlton Athletic football team, collecting postage stamps and using his computer.
Mr Walker is survived by his wife, Wendy, and leaves a daughter, Julie, and a son, Stephen.
His funeral took place at St Martin's Church, Exning, on April 25 and the Rev Joyce Williams officiated.
