FORMER Land Army girl Rose McAlinden died at West Suffolk Hospital, Bury St Edmunds, on April 5. She was 89.
Born in Rushford, near Thetford, she attended Thetford Grammar School.
A housewife and mother, she latterly lived at Exning Court, Exning, and previously in Charles Close, Newmarket.

She is survived by her husband Tommie and leaves two sons, Paul and Tim, and grandsons David, Adam and Ben.

Her funeral took place at West Suffolk Crematorium, Risby, on April 16 and Dr Colin McCarthy officiated.

Mourners were: Tommie McAlinden, Tim McAlinden and Jacqui Granger, Paul McAlinden and Rose, Adam McAlinden (rep David McAlinden), Ben McAlinden, Phyllis Crook, Suzanne Kenny, Brian Jermy, Rosemary and Patrick Hills, Tony Hills and Dorothy Hardy, Peter McAlinden, Donal McAlinden, Siobhan McAlinden, Michael Cunningham, Colin and Sylvia Wilson, Thelma Pearce (Stan Pearce), Angela and Trevor Easter, Don and Linda Cook, Keith Donovan (Tessa Donovan), and the staff of Exning Court, Joanne Bowman, Rose Simpkin, Lynn Devereux, Linda Arnold and Olivia Ellis.
