THE funeral of Rose Beatrice Bailey, of Thorns Corner, Wickhambrook, took place at West Suffolk Crematorium on April 16.
Mrs Bailey, who was 92, died in West Suffolk Hospital, Bury St Edmunds, on April 3 after sustaining an injury in a fall the previous day.

Born in London, she trained as a seamstress while at school and was a cook and housekeeper before she marrie
d Eric, who continued the family business of A Bailey and Sons, a Wickhambrook builders, which he worked for all his life.

Mrs Bailey was actively involved in Wickhambrook United Reformed Church where she was married at the outbreak of the Second World War.

She enjoyed flower gardening, home-making, sewing, embroidery and reading.

Widowed in January 2006, she leaves a son, Gordon, two daughters, Jill and Rosemary, five grandchildren, Christine, Linda, Michelle, Emma and Ian, and six great-grandchildren. She also leaves two sisters, Dorothy and Sylvia.

The service was conducted by the Rev David Dones and family and other mourners were: Gordon and Dianne Bailey, Michelle and John Bamber (rep Stephanie, Cameron, Aaron and Joanne), Jill and Harry Flack, Linda Flack, Christine and Anthony Hurdidge, Emily and Jane Hurdidge, Rosemary and Mike Lockwood, Emma and Dale Lockwood de Blois, Ian Lockwood, John and Margaret Bailey, Elsa Finch, Rita and Nigel Platt, Una and John Webb, Mr and Mrs Day, Mr A Brown, Paula Heading, Sue Grainger, Eddie and Jean Honeyball, Peggy Claydon, Sally Jones, Joan Button, Peter and Evelyn Rose, Reg and Lynda Dossell, Dorothy Dossell, Bill and Marina Savin, Mr and Mrs S P Coe, Cathryn French, Kenneth Webb, Wendy and Brian Watts, John Potter, Elizabeth and Julian Loader, Caz Reynolds, Margaret Leeper, Linda Halls (Peter), Barbara and Kerry Merritt, Alan and Pat Baker (Claire, Bill and Ian), Frank Cassidy (Jonathan and Rebecca) and Susan Lister (Hilda, Thomas and Laura).
