LONG-STANDING Salvation Army officer, Morag Hazel Rogers, of Chapel Street, Exning, died at Addenbrooke's Hospital, Cambridge, on May 17 after a short illness. She was 74.
Born in Exning, she attended Moulton and Exning primary schools and Newmarket Secondary Modern, and trained to be a nurse before becoming a Salvation Army officer, a post she held in Newmarket and Soham for more than 25 years.

Along with her Salv
ation Army work, she followed the activities of her nephews and nieces.

Mrs Rogers, who was known as Midge, left a son, Adrian, and two sisters, Mary Hayes and Sheila Coley.

Her funeral was held at the Soham Salvation Army Corps headquarters in Bushel Lane, Soham, on June 9. Standard bearer was Major Peter Leech and Lt Cols Howard and Trish Grottick officiated. Myrtle Fordham was the pianist.

Family mourners were: Captain Adrian and Jean Rogers, Mary and John Hayes, Sheila Coley (rep Terry Coley), Chris Knight (Richard Knight), Michael Hayes (Elaine and children), Lucy Wheatley (Paul and children), Iris Belsham and Margaret Saunders.

Other mourners were: Divisional leaders Majors Alan and Alison Burns, Lt Cols Howard and Trish Grottick, Major Idwal Evans, Majors Peter and Iris Leech, Majors Alan and Gwenda Crossland, Major Richard Jones (Betty Jones), Majors John and Diane Boyd, Captain Diane Kinsey (Captain David Kinsey), Captain Robert Campbell, Captain Christine Campbell, Ken and Miriam Day, Margaret Reeves, Pauline King, Peter and Sue Claringbold, Betty Reeve (Bob Reeve), Janet Stittle, Angela Johnson, George Ginn, Ruth Ginn (Soham Methodist), Keith and Pam Pringle, Pam and Jim Cornwell (Grahame, David, Geraldine and Betty and John Wigham), Doreen Cant, Doreen Mackenzie (Stan Head), Tony Brown (C E Fuller & Co), Ava Price, Wendy Goff (Tony and family), Susan Taylor (Women's World Day of Prayer), Sheila Snowie, Rosina Foley, John Booth (Ian and family), Vera Seal (Sheila and Arthur Badcock), Eva Mann, Joyce Leonard, Ellen Webb, Mary Ames (Soham Royal British Legion), Gillian Miller, Myrtle Fordham, Mr and Mrs D J Kent, Mrs N Murfitt, Prim Audus, Ivy Rampley (Brenda Harding), Betty Clarke, Kath Hobbs, Dot Palmer, Sue Calvert (Rookery Medical Centre), Jenny Woollard, Tim Holden, Debbie Woollard and Irene and Harold Hudson.
