THE funeral of Kathleen Sylvia Palmer took place at Newmarket Roman Catholic Church on February 18.
Miss Palmer, of Childwick House, Newmarket, died at West Suffolk Hospital, Bury St Edmunds, on February 4 after a short illness. She was 86.
Born in Newmarket, she was educated at Foley House and had worked in accounts at the telephone manager's
office in Cambridge.
She enjoyed quizzes and social events while at Childwick House and in earlier years had been actively involved with raising funds for Roman Catholic charities, Cancer Research, Mind, St Nicholas' Hospice and many more.
A regular supporter of the Blood Transfusion Service, she had given 50 pints of blood over the years.
Miss Palmer leaves cousins and their families.
The service was taken by Father Michael Griffin and Father Anthony Foreman.
Family mourners were: Mr and Mrs Sheff Wilson, Mr and Mrs Richard Wilson, Brian Wilson (rep Patrick and Oliver, Denmark), Mr and Mrs Les Dalkin, Becky Dalkin, David Guy, Hilary McDonald, Mr and Mrs Gerrard McDonald (family), Mr and Mrs Ian McDonald, Robert Wilson, Christopher Wilson, Simon McDonald, Leigh McDonald and Nathan McDonald.
Other mourners were: Rita Munns (family), Carol Barlow, Loretta Blade, Patricia Avieson, Sylvia Owyer (Marcia Marshall), Pauline Richardson, Tricia Coyle, Mrs M O'Gorman, Marian Brown (Roger, Erin, Ella and Adam Brown), Brian Sugrue, Lita Santos Pelloe, Tom Townsend (Sarah and Claire), Danny Masterson, Mona Finlay and Betty Munday.
