THE funeral of Joan Lilian Taylor, of Centre Drive, Newmarket, took place at Cheveley United Reformed Church, on May 30.
Mrs Taylor, who was 80, died at Papworth Hospital, on May 16 after a short illness.
Born in Stetchworth, she attended schools locally and in her younger days worked as a clerk in the office at Layng and Company, the grocers in Newmarket High Stree
t.
She lived in Cheveley for many years and occasionally attended the United Reformed Church and helped with its annual fete.
She loved her home and family and also enjoyed gardening, walking and reading.
Mrs Taylor is survived by her husband of 55 years, Charles, and leaves a daughter Carol, son Barry, and grandson Charles.
The service was taken by the Rev Professor David Thompson and the organist was Margaret Menzies.
