JEAN Lilian Elston, of Laureate Gardens, Newmarket, died at Fenland Lodge, Stuntney, on April 9. She was 87.
Born and living all her life in Newmarket, she attended the Kings School for Girls before working as a domestic and later a home help.

She loved her family and home-life, watching wildlife and gardening.

She also liked to attend the Monday Ret
irement Club and Newmarket Day Centre.

Mrs Elston leaves two daughters, Lynda and Anita, three grandchildren, Sam, Kerry and Katie, and one great-grandson, Henry.

Her funeral took place at St Martin's Church, Exning, on April 21. The Rev Joyce Williams conducted the service.

Family and other mourners were: Anita and Michael Palmer, Lynda Hayes and Roger Stevens, Sam Hayes, Kerry Palmer, Katie Palmer, Nathan Pinkney, John Bowman (rep Shirley Bowman), David Bowman (Amanda and family), Ron and Glenda Bowman, Sheila Bowman (Malcolm and Carol Bowman), Christine Shinn, Gail Gent, Sue Gardiner (Kevin Gardiner), Gill Gates (Rob Gates), Jean Newman (John and Ann Palmer), Fred Clements, Roger and Wendy Palmer, Mr and Mrs R Webb, Mr B Palmer (Mrs D Palmer), Susanne Youlden, Maureen Lahey, Brenda Page and Gloria Nicholls (Mr P Nicholls).
