DORIS Veronica Jenkins, of Jack Jarvis Close, Newmarket, died at her home on February 26. She was 76.
Born in Scarborough, she worked as a waitress in London in her younger days and moved to Newmarket in 1968 when she married Albert.

A housewife and mother, she liked to read and knit, and supported Unicef and other charities.

Widowed in 1989, she leaves a son Adrian, and two grandchildren, Kurtiss and Abbie.

Her funeral took place at All Saints' Church, Newmarket, on March 6 and the Rev Marion Drobig officiated.

Family and other mourners were: Adrian Jenkins, Nicola Carter, Kurtiss and Abbie Jenkins, Mr and Mrs T Jinks, Mr and Mrs A J Bailey, Jim and Joan, Barbara Bell (rep Arthur), Jean Scott, Mrs B Courtman, Mr Courtman, Doreen Hull, Tom Townsend, Liz Carroll (Injured Jockeys' Fund), and Keith Bovill (Racing Welfare).
