WARRIOR OF ROME III: Fordham author hopes for continued success

A FORDHAM author, who celebrated success when his first novel outsold the much-anticipated James Bond sequel in 2008, is set to release the third book in his series.

Oxford lecturer Dr Harry Sidebottom's Warrior of Rome Fire In The East, blitzed the book charts two years ago when it passed Bond book Devil May Care, written by acclaimed author Sebastian Faulks.

Warrior of Rome was the best-selling title by a debut author, when it peaked at fourth in the charts.

A sequel, released in 2009, was titled King of Kings and peaked at number three.

The third instalment, Lion of the Sun, is set for the shops on July 22 and continues the story of Ballista, a Roman warrior based in Mesopotamia, modern day Iraq, in AD260.

A fellow of St Benet's Hall, Oxford and lecturer at Lincoln College, Dr Sidebottom was educated at Fairstead House School.
