Two men lost their lives on the A11 following two accidents in the space of four days.
Peter Hankard, 46, of Exeter Road, Newmarket, suffered fatal injuries after his silver Renault Clio collided with a parked lorry at around 10.15am on Sunday, just past the B1085 Fordham turn-off.
Paramedics attended but he died at the scene.
Sgt Nigel Jennings said: “I would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the collision or saw either vehicle in the moments leading up to the incident.”
On Wednesday, grandfather Ken Hobbins died following a crash near Mildenhall.
He was driving to meet his wife ahead of their journey to their new home in Devon when the accident happened on the A11 at around 2.10pm on Wednesday.
The family of the 81 year old, of Stratton Strawless, Norfolk, said: “Ken was on his way to meet his wife, Susan, at South Mimms Services en route to their new home in South Devon.
“They were so looking forward to moving back to South Devon and starting a new chapter in their lives.
“Fortunately, their dog Tilly, a German short-haired pointer, miraculously survived the accident.
“Ken came to Norfolk with Susan seven years ago where they bought a house in Stratton Strawless, to be closer to his daughter, grandaughters and Susan’s two sons and grandsons.”
Mr Hobbins was driving a Mercedes estate which was in collision with a DAF truck. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The lorry driver suffered minor injuries.
Anyone with information about either incident should call police on 101.
