TRAVEL UPDATE: A14 near Newmarket reopens but new lorry incident continues to cause long delays

A collision between two lorries on the A14 near Newmarket in Suffolk which took place at 4.15am this morning has now been cleared.

However police are warning motorist that long delays still remain and they are getting new reports of a second incident in which an HGV has broken down, blocking one lane.

The original collision took place on the westbound carriageway close to junction 37.

Both drivers were taken to Addenbrookes Hospital. One of the drivers is believed to have serious injuries

Police are still advising motorists to avoid the area due to significant delays at this time.

Anyone who witnessed the incident is asked to call Suffolk Police on 101 quoting CAD 37 of Monday 13 July.
