Maths can be a love or hate lesson at school, but Burwell’s Max Fraser-Andrews can’t get enough of the subject. The 10-year-old has scored 100 per cent on his Level 6 SATs maths exam, a feat his maths teacher mother Catherine said she has never heard of happening before, and is at a level about four years ahead. She said Max “lives and breathes” maths and wants to study the subject at Oxford, with an ultimate ambition of having his own theorem named after him.

He has just finished at Burwell Village College and will go on to Bottisham Village College in September.
