Students from Newmarket Academy have been fund raising to help a town care home buy a new minibus for use by residents.
To coincide with National Care Home Day, the Exning Road academy organised a non-uniform day last month in the style of the Mad Hatter’s Tea Party.
Students then worked with residents at the St Fabian’s Close home making party hats and then returned to put on a special tea party with an old-fashioned singalong with music from the pupils and their head of music as well as a local pianist.
All the proceeds from the non-uniform day will go to the care home’s minibus fund.
