Students’ show for cancer charity

Talented students at Newmarket Academy are in rehearsals for a show they are putting on next month to raise funds for a cancer charity.

Sixth formers Amy Drayton17, and Billy Thompson, 16, are organising the show in memory of Amy’s aunt, Tanya Wilson, who died of leukaemia when she was just 18.

The show is set to be held on Tuesday March 3, which is the anniversary of Tanya’s death.

The money raised by the performance will be donated to the Leukaemia and Lymphoma charity in her memory.

It will be variety show with singers, dancers and musicians and there will also be a prize draw with tickets on sale on the night with a host of prizes including a Kindle, tickets for the races, beauty treatments and a MOT for a car. Tickets which are £3, £1.50 for children and £1 for students are available in advance from the academy or at the door on the night.
