Final preparations are underway for this year’s Burwell Carnival.

The annual village celebration will be on Saturday June 27 with over 20 local groups and organisations set to take part in the float parade.

This year’s theme is science fiction, fantasy and adventure and the organisers are hoping for the most colourful procession ever.

Other highlights on the carnival stage include street entertainer and fire eater Juggling James, and performances from both Burwell Choirs as well as KD Theatre Productions, the VIVA! drama group Loose Chippings and The Indietones, with lots of other activities planned on the carnival field.

There will also be a variety of craft and commercial stalls, face painting and many other games and events to take part in.

The carnival is organised by a committee of volunteers and is one of the best supported events of its kind in the area.

Admission is free and the fun starts at 1pm.
