Tributes were paid to the fallen in two World Wars and subsequent conflicts as remembrance services and parades were held on Sunday across the Newmarket area.
For all taking part, this year had an added significance being the centenary of the start of the First World War.
In Newmarket, town mayor Cllr Rachel Hood joined Cllr Andy Drummond, chairman of Forest Heath Council and other civic representatives laying wreaths at the memorial in the recently refurbished war memorial garden in the High Street.
Also present was West Suffolk MP Matthew Hancock, who earlier in the day had been present at the Mildenhall commemoration where he had played the Last Post on the bugle.
After the wreath laying, the Newmarket parade made its way to Tattersalls for a service.
There were also parades in Mildenhall and in Soham and simple wreath laying in villages throughout the area.
In West Row, children from the village primary school joined veterans and British Legion members for their village commemoration on Saturday.
