Contractors have agreed to doing remedial work and repairs to the Bill Tutte Memorial on Rutland Hill.

Concerns had been raised by members of the memorial working group, who raised much of the funding for the tribute, over poor lighting of the steel sculpture at night, poor cutting of the granite kerb stones which had left gaps between them, poor finishing of two new bollards and the unsatisfactory straightening of a bollard hit by a vehicle. Yesterday, group secretary Richard Fletcher met with a senior executive from contractors Kier May Gurney, and was assured action would be taken.
