A Newmarket stable owned by one of the most recognisable names in horse racing has been put on the market for £1.25 million.
Eve Lodge Stables, which is owned by 11-times champion Flat jockey Lester Piggott, has been put up for sale with estate agents Bidwells.
Purchased by Mr Piggott in 1985, the 95 box yard on Hamilton Road is currently leased out by Group One winning trainer James Toller, and Arab race horse handler Gill Duffield.
Both leases on the five-acre site, which contains a manager’s house, four two bedroom cottages, and turn out paddocks will come to an end on November 30.
“This is a fantastic opportunity to purchase a yard closely connected with possibly the most famous jockey of all time,” said Gemma Bailey, agent looking after the sale.
“The yard lends itself to accommodating two trainers with plenty of staff accommodation and is ideally located with direct access to the training grounds.”
