Special sessions held at a Newmarket primary school will now be used across Suffolk to raise awareness of prejudice as schools become more multi-cultural.

David Perkins, head of Laureate Primary where the sessions were held and where around 40 per cent of the youngest pupils don’t speak English as a first language, said: “Our school community is changing rapidly, with 20 first languages now spoken and families from dozens of different countries.

“We want to ensure that all cultures and backgrounds are respected and celebrated.”
