Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was seriously injured following an incident in Newmarket.
Officers were called at around 9.55pm on Saturday night to reports of a man found on the pavement who had sustained head injuries after falling to the ground in High Street, near to the junction with The Avenue.
As a result of this incident the man was taken to Addenbrooke’s Hospital where he is a critical but stable condition.
Detectives would like to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time of this incident and who may have seen the man fall.

A 33-year-old man from Newmarket was subsequently arrested on suspicion of assault as a result of this incident and taken to Bury St Edmunds Police Investigation Centre for questioning.
