Outline planning permission is being sought for 60 homes on a site in Beck Row.
An application by the RPV Group in Mildenhall as agents of Robert Palmer is for 2.1 hectares of grassland next to St John’s Street.
The plan includes a new access onto St John’s Street and 18 affordable homes.
The application says: “The development comprises a mix of single storey, two storey and one-and-a-half storey dwellings.”
“It is envisaged that the frontage of the site would contain one-and-a-half storey dwellings to the east and two storey dwellings to the west so that they relate to the size and appearance of existing neighbouring properties.
“Single storey dwellings would be located to the north of the site adjacent to single story dwellings within Beverley Close, and Lamble Close.”
It says most properties will be two-storey with consideration given to positioning of upper floor windows to prevent overlooking.
Detailed design of the houses, including layout, height and appearance, will be part of the ‘reserved matters’ stage of planning.
An Suffolk Archeology megnetometer survey of the site showed up a’a number of anomalies’ to be investigated.
Two neighbours i have objected to the closeness of two properties tor their homes and one felt the access road being close to the A1101 junction was dangerous.
