A village nursery has been rated one of the best in the country by government inspectors.
And so impressed was Oftsed inspector Lynn Hartigan with the educational programme provided that she said it should be shared with other providers of early years education.
The Green Wellie Day Nursery in Barrow, just outside Newmarket, was given its ‘outstanding’ rating following its inspection last month.
The inspector’s report said the nursery’s staff had“a superb understanding of how children learn” and this meant their teaching strategies were excellent.
“Children flourish as they play in exceptionally vibrant and inspiring playrooms,” said the inspector, who added: “They also benefit from a stimulating and exciting learning environment outdoors.”
There was praise, too, for the nursery manager and her staff, who the inspector said all showed a “genuine commitment and enthusiasm to their work.”
Manager Jo Chandler said: “We are all thrilled to have achieved outstanding in every category of our Ofsted inspection. This is such an achievement for us all and I’m really proud of every team member; staff, children and parents/carers.”
