The search is on to find a Newmarket Community Hero who will win £2,000 for their chosen charity or project.
As part of Newmarket’s 350 birthday celebrations, Newmarket Racecourses and major sponsors QIPCO are joining forces with the Journal to encourage readers and town residents to nominate a special person whose efforts have helped to make the town a better place to live and work.
Nominees can be charity, education or work-based, who live in Newmarket and have made a difference to life in the town.
And being chosen will also make a real difference to the winner’s good cause as not only will it receive £2000 from QIPCO but the team at Newmarket Racecourses will provide it with 350 hours of community service.
The prize also includes a VIP invitation to racing at the Rowley Mile on Saturday, October 1 featuring the Group 1 Kingdom of Bahrain Sun Chariot Stakes, part of the QIPCO British Champions Series and a limited edition 350 Newmarket photo book.
“We are excited to be running this competition in conjunction with QIPCO, an extremely valued sponsor for Newmarket and British Racing through the QIPCO British Champions Series,” said racecourses boss Amy Starkey.
“2016 is a monumental year for both Newmarket Racecourses and the town as we celebrate 350 years of making history.
“We want to raise the community profile by showcasing those individuals that make our town so very special.”
