A manufacturing firm which has taken over one of the biggest plots on an industrial estate in Mildenhall has said it aims to create new jobs in the town.
Officials at engineering firm Tinsley Special Products have made the claims after recently taking over the 6.5 acre site and engineering business which was formerly occupied by Marshall.
The sale, which was concluded earlier this month, has seen the County Durham firm purchase various pieces of equipment from Marshall including robotic weld and fabrication capabilities, as well electro-dip and paint finishing equipment.
“We are delighted to have taken over the site and we have big ambitions for the business as we expand our market place in the southern counties,” said Stuart Arnold, owner of Tinsley Special Products.
“Although it is early days here in Mildenhall, we hope, in time, to develop the business and create new jobs in the town.”
On Thursday both Mr Arnold, and Matt King, managing director, met with Forest Heath District Council leader James Waters to outline their plans for expansion.
“It was great to meet Stuart Arnold and Matt King from Tinsley and to hear about some of their plans for the site,” said Cllr Waters.
“They are a successful expanding engineering firm and it is great that the remaining Marshall’s staff have been offered a job at Tinsley.
“I am sure they will prosper here in Mildenhall and gradually create more job opportunities for local people.
“West Suffolk is a land of opportunity and Forest Heath is a place to invest.
