A £500 grant will allow disabled people in Soham to continue to enjoy music.
Townsend Music Makers, which holds twice monthly sessions for people with learning and physical disabilities, was awarded the money by Soham Town Council earlier this month.
“We have our own evidence that it’s well used and worth it for the quality of the support,” said vice chairman Cllr Geoff Fisher.
Organiser Mavis Cooke formed the group 16 years ago with three colleagues and said the funds were much needed and will pay for entertainers who deliver the sessions.
“We have become so low on funds that we are trying to pick up with fundraising,” she said.
“A lot of them haven’t got speech so it is an essential part of their lives.”
