Bakers young and old showed off their cake making skills in Mildenhall on Saturday at the town’s inaugural bake-off competition.
The event, which took place at the town’s Jubilee Centre, was organised by the Mildenhall and District Lions Club, to help raise money for cancer charity Ovacome.
Although a final total is yet to be calculated from the event, which featured eight different categories, organisers have labelled it a success.
“The response from the public was great and for a first time event it was very successful,” said Brian Sulman, chairman of the branch.
“While we don’t have a final figure on how much we have raised we certainly expect it to be several hundred pounds.”
