It’s hot outside – and it’s hot in Newmarket’s Nomads Kings Theatre as a crop of 30 young actors prepare for a six-day showing of Disco Inferno.
The cast of 13 to 18 year olds are in the middle of week-long rehearsals from 10am until 10pm every day, having enrolled in the Fitzroy Street group’s annual summer school. “It focuses the kids’ minds because they know they have so little time to get everything done,” said director Jamie Maguire, who has been a member of the theatre since he was nine. The show is set in the 1970s and sees lead character, Jack, meet Lady Marmalade. Monday to Saturday, August 9, tickets available from 01638 663337.
