Soham Village College’s £1.1m art block was opened on Thursday in a ceremony led by the University of Cambridge’s Fitzwilliam Museum director Tim Knox.

Mr Knox, pictured left, and project site manager Nick Thackray, right, were given sketches of the building while it was still a work in progress by student Jamie Cammam, 16, second left.

College principal Dr Carin Taylor, second right, said the six-classroom building was a ‘wonderful’ addition.

It was designed by Simon Brown, centre, of Lyster Grillet and Harding Architects.
